Anurag Prasad belongs to the prestigious Indian Revenue Service and presently holds the rank of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax.

Over his long career spanning three decades, apart from working in the various departments of tax, he has worked in the ministries of finance and commerce.

He has negotiated free trade agreements, been additional director general for HR and capacity building for tax department employees, has served in alternative dispute resolution bodies and presently supervises compliance related work in government owned corporations.
